Humboldt State

Wednesday night I went to a meeting out in Walnut Creek for those who have applied to Humboldt State University. While I don't know if they have accepted me yet, but it looked like a really fun campus. It's way up north, just south of the Oregon border, right on the coast. There are tall redwood forests, it's right on the beach, and very hilly. I think it rains a lot up there too, which I find attractive. I learned a lot about the campus, how I would get my food, lodging, etc. I also got a chance to speak with an alum about what I planned to do. She endorsed my idea of majoring in speech/communications and then using various assignments to explore other areas that interest me. April 8/9 I will get a chance to visit the campus and actually see if I want to go to school up there. Unfortunately, I have a class that weekend, so I will have to see if i can miss one day of class. If not, I guess I will have to see if I can arrange a special visit. I have some friends who live in the area, so maybe I will bunk with them for a night or too. We'll see, but now I have to hit my homework so that I can be a good student up there.
