My bro has inspired me

My brother has just sent out his massive email to everyone telling them what he is up too. And this has inspired me to get off my butt and send out one of my own. As you might expect, school is over and I have done pretty well: 2 B+'s, a B, and a B-. Believe it or not, that B- is the grade I am the most proud of, because at the beginning of the semester, my grades on tests and projects were coming back as C-'s and I had to bust my chops. In response to an email I sent her, my professor told me that I would have to get 41/50 on the final in order to get a B-. Well, I got a B- in the class so I must have done at least 41/50 on the final. My a favorite class, by far, was my oral interpretation class. Oral interp centered on the Oral Interpretation of Literature. It was about making literature come alive by reading it out.loud. Under normal circumstances, I HATE reading out loud, but in this class, I loved it. Instead of sitting to read, I stood up, and would make use of movement, gesture, and a little bit of costuming, to make the literature come alive. It was an exercise in minimalist theater and loads of fun. Christmas here in Chicago has been great. I went to church on Sunday and saw many old friends who I had not seen in a while and was very glad to see them. This may be one of the last chances I have to hear my Dad read in Church because his term expires in a year. There are still some people who I want to see but so far have not, you know who you are and I WILL get to you HAHAHAHAHAHA. My project over the last few days had been based around firefighting. As many of you know, it has been an unfulfilled dream of mine to be a wild land firefighter. I have applied to several Federal positions with the Forest Service and the Park Service and have gotten absolutely nowhere. This summer, I am saying the hell with the Feds and I am applying elsewhere. On my Dad's desk right now are two applications for two non-federal firefighting operations, one for the State of CA and one for a crew based in Incline Village, NV, about an hour from where my grandmother has her cabin. I want Dad to look them over and then I will send them out. He showed me a really cool computer program that he has that has enabled me to type the application, rather than fill them out by hand. This is saving me a lot of anguish because my handwriting looks like that of a baboon on acid ("like, let's make the 'A' look like a scribble, man. That's like, really artistic, man.") We'll see where these things lead, maybe nowhere, but maybe somewhere. John Imrie, the firefighter, coming to a fire that we hope is nowhere near you. In the meantime, I am still running, telling bad jokes, and playing the accordion (which I had to leave in CA) - all in an effort to make the world a better place :)
